Makeup Tricks to help Oily Skin

Warmer days are coming, this means those of us that suffer from oily skin are going to start gleaming more! Yikes! I for one much prefer my face to have a lovely matt look, how about you?

If you wear make-up each day, it can be a struggle to keep it on. Oily skin can cause your makeup to fade and melt off easily. If you are like me and want to make sure you maintain your look throughout the day. Here are a few tips and tricks that will not only prevent shine and keep makeup from fading.

Toner

Always use a toner to wipe your face before you apply any makeup to your face. Toner helps to remove excess oil without stripping the skin of essential oils.

Prepare the skin

Always prep your skin before you begin your daily makeup ritual. Use a primer. Primer acts as a base and also ensures that your makeup stays on for a longer period of time.

Carry a face powder

Face powder helps set your foundation, combat shine and soaks up any residual oil. Don’t use powders that have a shine or shimmer as that would make your face look oily.

 Matte products

Choose products that are shine-free. Use a matte powder and blush that will last longer and give a matte finish.

Also don’t forget that getting a facial can help to keep your skin in good condition and remove impurities. La Vita Spas offers a wonderful soothing facial. Visit the website to find out more.

10 Simple Steps for Smooth Flawless Complexion

Both men and woman are conscious of their skin complexion but when it comes to skin care we only focus on our face. Taking care of the face is important but we should not ignore the rest of our body because that’s the only way you can boost a healthy skin.

Let’s get started on how you can achieve that smooth and flawless complexion by following these simple and easy steps.

  1. Take a bath or shower everyday this will help to unclog your pores and give your skin a refreshing feeling.
  2. Exfoliate your skin. This helps to remove dead skin cells so that you can have smooth and healthy skin.
  3. Use a bath sponge or loofah this helps to improve blood circulation due to the rubbing action. This results in healthy and rejuvenated skin.
  4. Avoid using soap for your face and body. Soaps are acidic and can affect the PH balance of your skin resulting in a rough and dry skin.
  5. Always remember to wash your face twice a day. Wash in the morning and before you go to bed.
  6. Use a facial scrub to remove dry and dead cells.
  7. Use a facial wash when washing your face. It contains less chemical than soap.
  8. Make a habit to apply moisturizing cream every night. Try the La Vera Regenerating Anti Aging night cream fortified with Green Rooibos extract. Vitamin A and Olive Oil provides intensive moisture and supports the skins renewal process and natural balance during the night leaving an intensively rehydrated and rejuvenated skin.
  9. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to keep your skin soft and hydrated.
  10. Let your skin breathe at least once a week. Have a “no makeup” rule at least once a week.
  11. Also I highly recommend that at least every 6 weeks you have a professional facial.

La Vita Spas where I go regularly have 25 odd spas around the country and even some in the UK. They use a great anti ageing range and since I’m over the 40 mark I love the way I feel after one of their anti ageing facials.
