Keeping to your Resolutions?

We are halfway through January already…. have you had a chance to catch your breath as yet? Are you ready for the year ahead?

The big question is how are your New Year’s resolutions doing? Don’t beat yourself up, if you have fallen off the wagon a couple times. It’s okay to reset your goals and expectations and try again.

Try writing down your goals on a piece of paper and have them somewhere visible at your workstation or at home. Wanting to keep your resolutions private? Why not set up a bi-weekly reminder on your phone, with an alert that pops up.

One of the most popular resolutions is to choose a healthier lifestyle and care more about yourself. If you don’t look after YOU, you can’t look after anyone else.

Part of a good health regime is to exercise, eat right and to look after your body after you have worked so hard getting it into shape.

Here is a list of 5 things to make you feel fabulous on your journey to a healthier, happier you:

  1. Hot Stone Full Body Massage
  2. Ultimate Anti-Ageing Facial
  3. Venetian Hands & Feet
  4. Full Leg and Arm Waxing
  5. Swiss Body Wrap

All of the above can be found at La Vita Spas. Did you know they have a loyalty program? It offers discounts on your treatments, that will help towards your goals.

Don’t cut your beauty budget just yet!

If you are feeling the pinch of the festive season spending and thinking about what you can cut back on. WAIT… don’t cut this beauty essential from your list.

Did you know there are health benefits to getting a manicure and pedicure? Yes really...

Not only do they make your hands and feet look fabulous, but they keep you in top shape too!

Daily our hands and feet are exposed to dirt and germs, even though we do bathe and wash our hands, grime can build up, so it’s not such a bad idea to pamper and take care of them.

Here is a list of health benefits:

Exfoliating can help remove dead skin cells, and callous build ups. This process also gives the hands and feet a more attractive appearance.

A professional pedicure can also alert you to any potential fungal infections before it spreads. This is why regular treatments can keep your feet in tip top shape throughout the year.

Increased circulation is another benefit, the gentle massage during your treatment, results in increased blood flow. Those suffering with pain in their hands or ache in the soles of their feet can find relief.

It’s also not all about the physical, your mental health benefits too.  Getting to sit still, relax, unwind and have some ‘me’ time is so important. Relaxation helps with stress relief, which in turn contributes to a healthier you! It also works wonders for your self-esteem, when you have well-groomed hands and feed

La Vita Spas has a range of treatments to chose from, and look out from time to time for some amazing specials to help out your budget.

I Drink Rooibos Tea!

Confession- I’ve been having a love affair with Rooibos tea for the last 5 years it has been my go to beverage of choice.

If you are like me and looking for that refreshing drink without the added calories, then I would suggest drinking Rooibos Tea or Red Tea as its most commonly known as.

Rooibos tea is obtained from a plant that grows in abundance in the Cederbeg mountain range of South Africa. Rooibos tea has a naturally sweet flavor and nutritional benefits.

Red rooibos tea is an excellent thirst quencher and does wonders for active people like professional athletes, hyperactive children and those who travel often, whether for pleasure or business. Most people prefer to drink rooibos tea in its natural form without any sweeteners, and those who simply want a refreshing drink without a caffeine boost, rooibos is the ideal choice. This tea is worth trying.

I always have a box of Freshpak Rooibos Tea and I buy loose rooibos leaves from Sri Lanka on my yearly travels

How do I prepare my special Rooibos Tea?

15 grams loose Rooibos tea leaves

Honey or Brown Sugar

Lemon Juice

Boiling Water

Method

Place the Rooibos tea in a tea pot and pour boiling water over the tea. Leave to stand for 4 to 6 minutes.

Strain the tea in a second teapot using a sieve.

Serve tea

Add honey and lemon juice for extra sweetness and flavor
